Meet Roman – Head Personal Trainer Adelaide

Hello, my name is Roman and I am the head personal trainer in Adelaide. I am a very driven person and have worked on developing a functioning training system for the past 10 years. I started this journey becauseI was not happy with how my body performing and I wanted to change it. Over time through the relentless effort and work I put into educating myself to seek for the roots of problems, I managed to change myself and others.

I pride myself on providing a unique style of training that is focused on building up the body and posture with an emphasis on optimal human movement. Through this I am able to solve the needs for enhancing both general health and the body by gradual creation of efficient functional posture. Along the way, many of my clients further benefited from my style of training as we can target built-in imbalances, joint problems and compensations in body movement. At the same time, I believe that health is rather a complex cycle consisting of many different areas. Therefore with a huge focus on a holistic analysis of the lifestyle, the long term adjustment to the day to day life can be achieved. Through combining the movement style of the training, the philosophy behind building the mind and body, supported by a strong individual focus on habits and routines, the successful healthy body can be created. This kind of healthy body  can serve you for many many years and create countless happy memories.

Functional For Life is personal training designed for you, delivered directly to you. Our experience recognises that the ‘one size fits all’ approach in large group training can lead to stagnant results and/or injury due to lack of personalisations. We are all individuals and as such training must be tailored to achieve the best results.

I trained with Functional For Life once a week, at 6am for 3 months with a goal to strengthen and tone my legs. My trainer used my goal and each week provided me with new and challenging exercises which were a result of different activities he had researched, a majority of which were body weight based. My trainer was very mindful of the occasional knee pain I would experience as a result of wear and tear from years of playing basketball, and would ensure that my technique was correct before pushing me harder. Over the period I trained with FFL I learnt a great deal about technique and the importance of taking time out of your day to do the little things, such as stretching daily. I’m really happy with my results from these training sessions and will continue to incorporate these activities into my weekly exercise regime.

Roman is an amazing trainer – his knowledge of physiology is outstanding and he has helped me take my running from 4kms to 6kms averaging twice a week to four times a week. The strength, balance and core training I do with Roman has helped me get back to running after a C5/6 fusion. I’ve on and off again used PT’s for the last 6 years of my life as my my posture has always been terrible due to a fairly bad case of Scoliosis & Scheuermann’s Disease from birth. This causes me some serious issues with my lower back, core strength, and hip alignment. I had taken a break from PT all together as my previous PT actually aggravated my injury as he was too focused on the “aesthetic” goals thus getting me to lift heavy weights with no real focus on my overall stability! Despite my initial hesitation I reached out to Jimmy and the team and I haven’t looked back. Overall, I’m feeling happier, healthier, stronger, and more informed than ever before.
